The DEIC is a volunteer advisory committee established by the City Council in October 2020 to serve as a liaison to the City on matters related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The responsibilities of the DEIC are as follows:
- Provide input and advice for City officials and staff to advance equity as a central component of public processes and decision-making;
- Assist the City on outreach and engagement with historically underrepresented groups;
- Provide community oversight and opportunities for the City to have greater accountability to the community on equity, inclusion, and diversity initiatives;
- Advise the City in the development of a strategic plan to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion among Estacada’s government and communities;
- Evaluate the City’s progress on equity-related goals, objectives, and action plans; and
- Review current policies and procedures with an equity lens.
DEIC Membership The DEIC shall consist of 7 members appointed by the City Council possessing the following characteristics:
- A commitment to equity, social and environmental justice, diversity, and inclusion;
- The ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse perspectives and experiences;
- Connections with local historically marginalized and underrepresented communities;
- Experience, skills and knowledge in policy development, evaluation, local government, procurement, public participation, research, education or business; and
- The ability to represent the demographic diversity of Estacada.

Meeting Schedule: Meetings on the 1st Monday at 5:00 PM, with Workshops as needed on the 3rd Monday at 5:00 PM.
