New Water Service

For those whose property is located within city limits:

If you are not yet already hooked up to the City’s water system, you are allowed to connect. You will be required to pay the System Development Charges (SDCs), water meter, and installation charges. You may also be charged additional expenses, depending on how far away the nearest water line is located. If city sewer service is located within 100 feet of your property and you are not already connected, you will be required to connect to the sewer system as well.

For those whose property is located outside city limits but inside the urban growth boundary (UGB):

If you would like to connect to the City’s water system, you have two options:

  1. Apply for annexation into city limits. If your annexation application is approved, you will be required to pay the System Development Charges (SDCs), water meter, and installation charges. You may also be charged additional expenses, depending on how far away the nearest water line is located. You may also be required to connect to sewer service and pay the applicable charges for that.
  2. Request an exemption from City Council from annexation. You would have to demonstrate need in order for Council to approve an exemption from annexation. If the exemption is granted, regular water billing is billed at twice the rate of city residents. You would also be required to pay the SDCs, meter, installation and any additional expenses for extending the water line.
