Project Summary

The former Wong's King building was a highly visible vacancy at the corner of 3rd Ave and Broadway. When the building was sold over a year after Wong's King closed their doors, the new owners pledged to improve the building to a level that was on par with the other buildings on beautiful Broadway Street.

As project costs escalated, the owners applied for a Targeted Improvement Grant in order to address the unsafe electrical system in the building, and a Facade Improvement Grant to address the north wall, which was crumbling from the inside out due to water intrusion. The north wall is the canvas for the Ginseng Mural by the Artback. Unfortunately, the repair of the wall will mean the mural will be covered, but there are plans in place to create a new canvas so that the mural may be restored or replaced. More info about that, here.
