Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEIC) Vacancy

There is an opening on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. This committee position serves through 3/31/26.

A Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, which is an advisory board, is hereby established to act as a liaison to the City on matters related to diversity, equity and inclusion. The responsibilities of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee shall be as follows:

1. Advise City officials and staff to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in public processes and decision making.
2. Advise the City in development of a strategic plan to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion among Estacada's government and communities.
3. Advise City staff and consultants on the creation and ongoing development of an equity lens for City services and programs.
4. Provide input to the City administration on current programs and systems to address diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.
5. Recommend short- and long-term strategies and practices to correct institutional inequities.
6. Seek regular feedback from staff, officials, and community members to inform decision making and highlight opportunities for improvement.

Membership shall consist of seven (7) members that among them possess the characteristics below. Initially four members shall serve a three-year term and three shall serve a two-year term. At the expiration of the initial terms, each position shall be filled for a two-year term. Members must be a resident of the Estacada School District for at least one year and demonstrate at least one of the following:

• A commitment to equity, social and environmental justice, diversity, and inclusion;
• The ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse perspectives and experiences;
• Connections with local historically marginalized and underrepresented communities;
• Experience, skills and knowledge in policy development, evaluation, local government, procurement, public participation, research, education or business; and
• The ability to represent the demographic diversity of Estacada.
