What is the Transient Lodging Tax?

The Transient Lodging Tax (TLT) is a tax for those renting housing accomodations for less than 30 days in the City of Estacada. the lodging operator collects the TLT and makes the payment to the City of Estacada.

Who is required to pay the TLT?

If you operate a property located within the city limits of Estacada and it is rented for less than 30 days, you are responsible for registering, collecting, and remitting the TLT funds to the City of Estacada. The tax is 7% of total gross receipts per Ordinance #2023-004. The tax is required to be paid to the operator of the lodging facility at the time the rent is paid. It is the operator’s responsibility to send the TLT funds and the quarterly reporting form to the City of Estacada.

What is the TLT used for?

70% of the revenue from the TLT must be used for tourism promotion and tourism related facilities. 30% of the revenue from the TLT may be used for City of Estacada services.
