It is never too early (or late) to start reading with your child! 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a self-paced early literacy program that encourages you to spend time sharing books with your little ones. Reading with your child builds vocabulary and other important language skills needed for school success. Earn badges and prizes along the way to 1000 Books.The easiest way to track your progress is through the Beanstack app or web site. Simply register in Beanstack and enroll your child in “1000 Books Before Kindergarten.” If you would like to participate with a paper log, you can download the file below or call 503-630-8273 and we will print some for you.
When families sign up online, in-person, or by phone, they will receive a registration folder with startup info, paper log and coloring sheet, stickers, etc. Rewards are earned at:
- 100 books— free book
- 500 books— free book and pencil set
- 1000 books— free book and finger puppet
