Background
Melissa Hill is proud to serve on the Estacada City Council, bringing with her a deep love for the community, a strong sense of service and a commitment to preserving the small-town values that make Estacada feel like home.
Melissa and her husband, Codie have called Estacada home since 2018. Born in Montana and raised across Texas and Oregon, she has spent most of her life in communities like Oregon City and Colton. From the moment they arrived, Melissa knew Estacada was where they were meant to plant roots.
Melissa comes from a proud military family and is now a proud mom of three grown children, including a son currently serving in the Army National Guard. Her life has been shaped by faith, family and a sense of duty. These values she carries with her into her role on council.
Her career spans public service, project management and entrepreneurship. Melissa worked for Portland Public Schools in both Publication Services and IT, where she led key initiatives including the district’s Chromebook rollout during the COVID-19 response. After COVID she took a temp role closer to home as the librarian at River Mill Elementary. Then she and Codie launched a successful local cleaning business that now serves families and small businesses throughout the region.
Melissa is also a published children’s book author, having written the series The Adventures of Tana and Trigger, inspired by her real-life fur babies.
Goals as They Relate to Position
As a wife, mother, veteran advocate, small business owner and creative storyteller, Melissa brings a unique and balanced perspective to the council. She is passionate about:
● Supporting children and families, ensuring all young people have access to resources and safe spaces to dream big;
● Preserving the charm and natural beauty of Estacada for future generations;
● Strengthening small businesses and working families, using her own entrepreneurial experience as a guide;
● Listening with compassion, keeping transparency, grace and open dialogue at the center of her leadership.
