People have called the city and the garbage haulers for years to ask for this service. The City of Estacada started a pilot project in 2021 with seasonal yard debris boxes at Portal Park. These dumpsters filled up quickly and were heavily used. This was difficult for many people to access.
In 2023 we surveyed the community regarding having curbside yard debris. The response was overwhelmingly positive for this service. We received 294 responses and 88% said "Yes" they wanted yard debris, another 7% said "Maybe" to yard debris. Only 4% of respondents said "No" to yard debris.
This has been discussed at multiple city council meetings for over two years now with support from the community for this additional service.
