Does the City receive money from developers?

Developers may pay fees to the City, but these are fees for specific services and requirements, not payments to the City simply for developing property.

Development applications can involve fees established by City Council to cover the costs associated with reviewing and processing applications, inspections, permits, infrastructure, and other development-related services. These fees help the City recover the costs of providing those services.

These payments are not the same as the City “making money from developers.” Development-related fees are collected for specific purposes and are subject to the City's established fee schedules and applicable laws. They are not payments made to influence whether a particular development is approved.
