Description of Event
Alebrijes (pronounced: ah-leh-bree-hez) are brightly colored Mexican folk art sculptures depicting fantastical creatures or familiar animals.
Each person attending must register to select their figurine (chicken, mouse, kitten or rabbit) to sculpt and paint. You do not have to attend both sessions, but we hope you can.
All supplies are provided. This program is intended for ages 10 and up.
- Sculpting Alebrijes (Sept. 23): Design your own alebrije by sculpting air dry clay on a ceramic figurine base.
- Painting Alebrijes (Sept. 30): Paint your sculpted albrije or ceramic figurine.
