Become a Crop Parent - Adopt A Crop
By adopting runner beans, and/or squash seeds and parenting them through growing, saving and returning seeds, you’ll join an ancient tradition of seed stewards, helping to heal our food system from the ground up.
Local Seeds – As a community, the more times we grown and save these seeds and replant them, the more adapted they become to our soil, climate and pests.
Strength through community – Every crop parent adds to the adaptation of the crop and to our local food security.
How to Become A Crop Parent
As a seed parent, you must:
- have an active email address and agree to receive monthly instructional emails
- have growing space with 6-8 hours of sun each day
- pick up your seeds between April 20 and May 13 at the seed library you designate when you register
- agree to save and return the next generation of seeds to the seed library at your participating LINCC public library.
