Description of Event
The Clackamas River Basin Council is hosting the 2024 Down the River Cleanup with We Love Clean Rivers on September 8th, 2024. The Down the River Cleanup is the largest on-water cleanup event in Oregon. Last year, 152 volunteers collected over 2,000 lbs of trash and recycling.
What: 21st Annual Down the River Cleanup
When: Sunday, September 8th @ 9 am
Where: Milo McIver, Barton Park, Carver Park, Riverside Park
Details: Bring your canoes, kayaks, rafts, drift boats, SCUBA or snorkel gear, and set out from a public launch to clean one of the four sections of the Clackamas Water Trail. Cleanup volunteers arrive at their launch park at 9 am and get their supplies and safety briefing, then launch with their pod at 10 am. The float ends around 1 pm, and once boats have been loaded and shuttles completed, volunteers will convene at a free cookout celebration and thank you at Barton County Park. The event ends at 4pm.
