|The Planning Department is responsible for guiding the City's growth by updating and enforcing all applicable land use regulations and development standards. The Planning Department is responsible for all current and long range planning including the issuance of permits, maintaining and implementing the Estacada Comprehensive Plan. Estacada's Comprehensive Plan is implemented through adopted Ordinances.
The Planning Department reviews zoning, municipal code and building criteria. There are several types of planning processes that range from staff approval for non-discretionary permits to full review by the Planning Commission and the City Council.
The City of Estacada currently has a full Planning Commission. To qualify for the Planning Commission, applicants must be U.S. citizens and submit a completed application for appointment to a citizen committee. Application forms are available at City Hall or can be downloaded here. Each volunteer form shall be accompanied by a brief statement of why the applicant wishes to serve on the Planning Commission. All candidates are welcome to include a resume with their applications. Appointments to the Planning Commission will be made by the Mayor.
Members of the Planning Commission are required to file a Statement of Economic Interest with the Oregon Government Ethics Commission. The annual reports must be filed by April 15 every year of the incumbency of the public official. In addition, quarterly updates are due January 15, April 15, and October 15.
