13.08.050 Senior citizens--Application for reduced rate.

Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, senior citizens of the age of sixty-five (65) years or older residing within the city who are billed directly by the city for storm sewer, with an income during the preceding calendar year from all sources of less than thirteen thousand six hundred sixteen dollars ($13,616.00) or who is the head of a family with a family income during the preceding calendar year from all sources of less than eighteen thousand two hundred four dollars ($18,204.00) who applies for reduced residential storm sewer maintenance rates and whose application is approved, shall pay a monthly storm sewer rate as set by resolution of the council. Applications for reduced storm sewer rates shall be on forms supplied by the city filed with or mailed to the city recorder. All information required to be given on such forms shall be supplied by the customer and shall be verified by the customer. Reduced storm sewer rates shall be granted to qualifying applicants commencing with the first full billing period occurring following the acceptance of the application. The reduced rates shall continue for the remainder of the fiscal year in which the application is filed and accepted. All qualifying customers must submit a new application annually by July 1st in order for eligibility to be continued through the next fiscal year from July 1st through the following June 30th. A change of address of a qualifying customer terminates the special rate provided in this chapter. (Prior code § 3.935)
