12.08.030 Grade level survey and deposit.

Upon application for a permit having been made, the superintendent of public works shall make an estimate of the cost of a survey to establish the grade, elevation and alignment of the proposed curb and sidewalk. The superintendent of public works shall advise the applicant of the amount of the estimate and the applicant shall be required to deposit with the city cash in the amount of the estimate. When the deposit has been made, the superintendent of public works shall order the survey. When the survey has been completed, the cost thereof shall be paid from the applicant’s deposit. If the deposit is insufficient to pay the cost, the applicant shall be billed for the difference. No permit shall be issued until the entire cost has been paid. If the cost of the survey is less than the deposit, the excess shall be returned to the applicant. When the survey has been completed, the superintendent of public works shall issue a permit to construct the sidewalk in accordance with the survey. (Prior code § 2.220)
