10.20.050 Pick ups and deliveries.

A. Vehicles being operated on public streets for the specific purpose of picking up or discharging goods or persons at any business establishment or residence located on other than a designated truck route, or any vehicle being driven to the owner’s or driver’s residence for the purpose of overnight parking, when a permit for such parking has been issued, shall be exempt from the provisions of Sections 10.20.030 through 10.20.050.
B. Upon application to the city manager by the owner or driver of a vehicle described in Section 10.20.040 for a permit to park such vehicle at the residence of the applicant, the city manager shall issue a permit authorizing such parking if the city manager finds: (a) a suitable place for parking exists on the premises at such residence so that the weight of the vehicle will not damage the public street upon entering or leaving it, will not cause mud to be tracked thereon upon such entering or leaving, and the vehicle will not be parked in any required yard setback under the applicable zoning for the area; and (b) the vehicle does not constitute an unlawful sound producing device within the meaning of Section 9.12.070.
