Whenever the council finds that any street or portion of street is incapable of bearing the maximum weights as indicated in ORS Chapter 818, the council shall adopt a resolution providing for additional weight restriction on such streets or portions thereof. The restrictions in maximum weight so adopted shall conform to the methods used in ORS Chapter 818. Such resolution shall describe the streets or portions thereof on which restrictions as to maximum weight are made and specify the maximum weight for such street when the same is less than that provided in ORS Chapter 818. The resolution so adopted may provide a time limit or period during which the additional restrictions of weight shall be in effect. If the resolution provides no such time limit, such additional restriction as to weight shall continue in effect until such restriction shall be removed by the council by resolution.
