Chapter 9.16 OFFENSES BY OR AGAINST MINORS
9.16.030 Children confined in vehicles.
A. No person who has under his control or guidance a child under ten (10)
years of age may at any time leave, lock, confine or permit such child to be
left, locked or confined unattended in any vehicle on the streets, alleys or
public ways for a period of time longer than fifteen (15) consecutive
minutes.
B. It shall be lawful and the duty of a policeman or other peace
officer, finding a child or children confined in violation of the terms of this
section, to enter such vehicle and remove such child, using such force as is
necessary to effect an entrance to the vehicle or place where such child may be
confined in order to remove the child. (Prior code § 5.175)
