2.28.020 Public library board.

There is established a public library board, which shall consist of five members. No fewer than two members of the library board shall be residents of the city. The members of the library board shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council. The members of the library board shall hold office for a term of four years, or until their successors are appointed and qualified. At the expiration of the term of any member of the library board, a successor shall be appointed for a term of four years. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired term. All appointments shall be made pursuant to ORS Chapter 357. No person shall hold appointment as a member for more than two full consecutive terms, but any person may be appointed again to the board after an interval of one year. (Prior code § 1.710)
