During any period of time when the city shall have a valid and existing agreement with the sheriff of Clackamas County transferring to the sheriff the duties of law enforcement within the city, all references contained in the Estacada Municipal Code to the police department shall mean the Clackamas County sheriff’s department; all references to the police chief shall mean the sheriff of Clackamas County; and all references to police officers shall mean the Clackamas County sheriff or his or her deputies assigned to perform police functions within the city.
