Chapter 2.08 CITY OFFICERS
2.08.010 Bonding of officials.
Before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, the recorder,
the treasurer and, if there is such an officer, the chief of police, shall each
file with the city recorder a bond to the city in the penal sum to be set by the
council payable in lawful money of the United States with sureties approved by
the mayor and council. The bond shall be conditioned that the official
faithfully discharge his or her duties, account for and pay over all the money
that comes into his or her hands by virtue of his or her office and turn over to
his or her successor in office all books, papers and property belonging to the
city that come into his or her hands by virtue of his or her office. (Ord.
