Minutes of Special Meeting
Attending: Bruce Whiting, Suzanne Mahan, Dennis Weber, Katinka Bryk. Guest: Margaret Palandech
Called to order
This was a special meeting to meet potential new trustee Margaret Palandech and to continue the review of the bylaws and policies.
Suzanne reported on the status of the nascent Friends of the Library. It needs a special committee appointed by the EPLT. Bruce made the motion and Dennis seconded to create a special committee to form the steering committee of the Friends of the Estacada Public Library.

Dennis reported his visit with the fire chief Alan Hull resulted in his understanding that the fire dept is indeed going out for a construction bond in Nov 2008.
A review of the city expenses in the library budget resulted in the decision that the majority of expenses appear in line, but a closer look should be taken at the percentage paid to the city employees, particularly the city manager.
The review of bylaws and policies continued. Minor revisions were made to the body of the bylaws. Margaret will revise the code of conduct. Katinka moved and Dennis seconded to replace the goals with the strategic plan. The revisions are very nearly done- good job one and all!
