Estacada Public Library Board of Directors Meeting

Minutes

August 28, 2007

 

Attending: Dennis Weber, Florence Tallmon, Bruce Whiting, Katinka Bryk, Suzanne Mahan

 

Meeting called to order at 6:05 pm.

Minutes of June 2007 were approved as read.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Foundation balance is $235,791.

Book Nook income $1257, expenses $688, net $569

 

Statistics:

June 2007 library statistics show a circulation increase of 20.6% from last year.

The County distribution formula shows $313,579 for ESPL in 2008/09.

 

Old Business:

  • Exterior sign project not funded by city council yet. Foundation will continue to address the project.
  • A review of the library’s policies and bylaws will begin. The intent is to have the bylaws and policies updated over the next few months and then have a work session with the city council to keep them current with library focus.
  • It was decided to keep the community room policies as they are written.

 

New Business:

·        Staff materials purchase form was reviewed and accepted.

·        New board member, Suzanne Mahan, should be appointed at the Sep 10 council meeting. We need one more member who lives inside the city limits.

·        There was a discussion of the November 2008 library service district vote. We all need to be advocates!
