The meeting was called to order at 9:00am.

COUNCIL BUSINESS
Council
Goals - The Council updated its 6, 12, and 18 month goals. A separate Action Item regarding this topic
is being prepared by staff.
Council
Teamwork - Councilor Dodrill led the Council in
an exercise entitled “Toxic Talk- Critical Keys for Team Communication. The exercise encouraged the
Council to remember that their work will often surround “crucial conversations”
that inevitably will involve high stakes, varied opinions and strong
emotions. Keeping the following tools in
mind when faced with controversial topics will help: (T)hink
clearly; (A)sk open minded questions; (L)isten completely; and (K)eep safe
and sound. Finally, it is always
important to affirm the common ground.
Many of our topics will encompass varying opinions, but they are likely
to also have common interests to everyone.
Urban
Renewal Plan- Urban Renewal Consultant
Tina Mosca, Tashman and Associates, attended for this portion. The Council
reviewed the proposed public hearing schedule and asked questions of Ms. Mosca
regarding details of the draft Plan and financial analysis. A separate Action Item memo regarding this
topic is being prepared by Staff.
Garbage
Franchise- Staff reported that the
city’s franchise with
