CONVENE MEETING
Mayor Austin called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.
Present: Cr.
Michele Conditt, Cr. Kay Nelson, Cr. Ben Erickson, Cr. Richard Hartwig, Cr.
Becky Arnold, Mayor Bob Austin, CM Randy Ealy, CR Denise Carey.
COUNCIL CANDIDATE
INTERVIEWS
All candidates were asked why they wanted to be a
Councilor and what strengths they could bring to the council. Kathleen Wyatt, Pamela Webber, Emil Hnidey
and Norm Ernst responded to the questions.
Ralph Branson was unable to attend the meeting because of a previous
engagement.
Cr. Nelson asked the candidates if they had the time
to commit to the council. Emil Hnidey
assured the council that he did have the time and was very interested in
politics and wants to begin in this community.
Kathleen Wyatt also stated she had an enormous amount of time that she
could devote to the council. Norm Ernst
stated that this was one of the things he thought about most and has determined
that he would have the time to serve.
Cr. Nelson asked Pam Webber what she thinks the job
of the city councilor is. The job of the
city council is to represent the citizens of this community.
Cr. Conditt asked the candidates what their
definition of teamwork is and what or who prompted you to run. All of the candidates answered the
questions.
Cr. Arnold asked the candidates what areas are you
interested in? The candidates answered
the question.
With no further questions the council voted for
their top two candidates. Norm Ernst
received 5 votes, Emil Hnidey received 3 votes, and Pam Webber and Kathleen
Wyatt each received 2 votes. Norm Ernst
and Emil Hnidey were chosen as the top two.
The council then voted for one between Mr. Ernst and Mr. Hnidey. Mr. Ernst received 5 votes and Mr. Hnidey
received 1 vote (Nelson). The council
chose Mr. Ernst to fill the vacant position.

The workshop was adjourned at 6:35 pm.
