Regular Monthly meeting minutes

6:30PM Wednesday, April 19, 2006, Estacada City Hall, Estacada, OR.   

 

 

1. Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 6:35 PM by Chair, Bennett Johnson

Present: Bennett Johnson, Chair, Linda Parsons, Irene Adams, Mauragrace Healey, Jim Lingelbach,  Henny Rademacher, Phil Lingelbach, Earline Masse of the Chamber of Commerce and Dawn Michelle, citizens.

 

2. Approval of Minutes: Minutes were reviewed and approved

 

3. Project Updates: Subcommittee Reports:

     

Website: Bennett reported that Peggy Hindahl has begun the project. A sample of her         work was circulated. She will also get a site address.

     

Tree Trimming Project: All work is completed and payments made. There is about           $300 left over.

 

Kiosk Projects: Mauragrace reported that the over-all West Cascade Kiosk graphic is       completed and is in Sandy. The second is being completed in Eugene; this graphic         would cover the area from Detroit to Estacada. The Forest Service will not be creating the third kiosk graphic of local attractions.

 

Funding Request from TDC: Funds have reportedly been received by the city and are       ready to be dispersed for the projects that have been approved.

 

Directional Sign Project: Phil reported that the PRIDE group has met and is         considering a dark green on a white background. Brent Lawrence is doing a       sketch with the colors to better display the signs. We are checking on the metal          thickness to make sure it would withstand wind etc. Three of four property        owners have been contacted and approve.

 

Radio advertising: After a discussion it was clarified that the old car show that we wanted to highlight was the Chamber’s event during the 4th of July Holiday not the Les Schwab event in early June. Bennett will make the changes in the          advertising program.

 

East End Project: Bennett strongly urged that EDA apply for the $50,000 from TDC.

 

Walking Tour & Foster Farm Brochures: Funds are now available at the City for             these projects

 

Review of proposals:

 

Please refer to the proposals and attached memo for details. 5 minutes were allotted for each proposal including questions.

 

      Earline Masse, Chamber Executive Director, presented the 8 Chamber proposals.         Afterwards committee members asked questions about the proposals. The             Chamber indicated they did not have a preference for funding.

 

      Other proposals were presented by committee members. Questions were also   asked of these proposals

 

      Bennett indicated she wanted to add public restrooms to the list of proposals.

 

5. Citizens Comments: None

 

6. Next Meeting:  Wednesday, May 10th at 6:30 PM Council Chambers at City Hall. Most of this meeting will be dedicated to evaluating and deciding which proposals to recommend for funding.
