CONVENE MEETING
Mayor Austin opened the workshop at 6:00 pm.
Present: Cr.
Marli Stauffacher, Cr. Michele Conditt, Cr. Becky Arnold, Cr. Kay Nelson, Cr. Ben
Erickson, Mayor Bob Austin, Vic Cain, Steven Shibley, Kraig Bartel, Gloria
Polzin, CM Randy Ealy, CR Denise Carey, Dave Piper.
Absent: Cr.
Richard Hartwig, Jane Troeh, John Wilson, Dan Scott.
NEW LIBRARY PROJECT
Architect Schematic Design – Skip Stanaway and Kent Duffy of SRG presented the
schematic and designs for the new library building. They reviewed the way the design came to
be - through various community meetings
and library staff meetings discovering what everyone wants to see in the new
library. The current library design and
many of the favorite areas of the current library have been incorporated into
the new library. Skip reviewed the
project budget and the project schedule.
Mayor Austin would like the council to discuss the
possibility of waiving some or all SDC’s relating to the library at the next
meeting. The Council would have to
discuss changing the city’s SDC ordinance to allow them to waive the fees for
public purposes.
General Contractor Bid Award – Library Project – Cr. Nelson moved to award the contractor bid to
P&C Construction Company pending legal review and approval by the city
attorney. Cr. Arnold seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously.
