CONVENE MEETING
Mayor Austin opened the workshop at 6:00 pm.
Present: Cr.
Marli Stauffacher, Cr. Michele Cheshier, Cr. Becky Arnold, Cr. Cliff Gavic, Cr.
Ben Erickson, Cr. Cliff Atkinson (6:05 pm), Mayor Bob Austin, CA Andrew Cole,
CM Randy Ealy, CR Denise Carey.
COUNCIL GOALS
Code Review – CM reviewed the information in the packet regarding code revisions. The Council commented on the proposed changes and how the process should work. Cr. Cheshier would like to have citizen input on the changes and the process.
PWS Strawn reviewed the process of code enforcement – the first step is verbal contact with the person in violation of the code or a written warm and fuzzy letter to educate them on the code and ask them to comply. If there is no attempt to comply, they get the abatement letter giving them 10 days to comply. If at this time they don’t comply it is turned over to the City Attorney.
The council discussed some of the listed revision
requests in the memo from PWS Strawn.
They were not able to review all the data and would like to have another
workshop at 6:00 pm before the April 14th meeting to continue the
review of the provisions and to have business owners present regarding the
sandwich board code.
