Attendees: Lisa Homan,Julie Howland, M.V.Whitney, Norm Ernst, Jeff Gray, Steve Stone and Diedre Landon.

 

Meeting called to order: By Julie Howland (President) 7:27AM.

 

February 12, 2003 Minutes:  Read by Secretary, M.V.Whitney approved

with amendments.

 

President’s Update: Julie Howland thanked Diedre Landon for her work on the 4th of July event.

 

Financial Report: None 

 

Truck Raffle: The Timber Show would be good place to sell tickets. Julie to sell tickets at High School Pharmacy on Saturday 10AM-2PM.-display the sign that Whitney donated for raffle. Lisa passed out flyers to town businesses. Whitney offered to make another sign or banner N/C for window @ Dean Holden’s office (Raffle Tickets on Sale Here).

 

Staff Report to Board: Lisa Homan reported that that the Viewpoint could do a buffet for the Chamber lunch forum in March. A motion was made and passed to hold the March forum @ the Viewpoint. Lenora Lingelbach has been answering the phone @ the Chamber office 9AM-12PM-No word yet from ETBS on Angela’s replacement. Lisa reported that these businesses have not renewed because of financial difficulties: Extreme Sports, Estacada Body & Paint, and Estacada Muffler & Brake. Harmony Bakery will renew. Steve Stone made a motion to give 2nd businesses ½ price discount on multiple listings in directory, Diedre 2nd –motion carried.

 

Lisa said that Dee Haas seeks Chamber support to give presentation to Chamber Forum in April or May. Ken Johnson @ Fearless Brewing seeking Chamber support-tabled.  Polaris asked Lisa if they could possibly do demos at Timber Park. The web page is almost complete for the Chamber. Clackamas Council Tourism Development 2004-FYI-look @ form $75.00. The City of Estacada to post community minutes on city website-Whitney to e-mail Tracy @ city the approved monthly minutes.

 

Museum Update: Lisa reported that the Girl Scouts toured the museum-$1.00 collected. Irene from Adam’s Apple Tanning has volunteered to help run the museum. Museum needs to file for 501-3-C, as it has been dissolved.

 

 

4th of July: Baja Grill (Mark) offered to sponsor the beer garden with Budweiser beer-need certificate of insurance. Motion made by Steve and 2nd by Whitney to accept Baja Grill’s offer to sponsor the beer garden-motion carried. Steve to add to #17 on Vendor Form-Lisa will send out to interested vendors ASAP.  Carnival – Events R Us too expensive-other carnivals to be looked into.  Diedre and Steve will make the 4th of July collection containers. Next 4th of July mtg. March 20th, 7PM-city hall. Dunk Tank: Steve will repair. State police will be contacted by Lisa for added security. Motorcycle cops to patrol Hwy 224 on 4th. Grand Marshall: Becky to contact Damon Coate’s family.

 

Best Dam Run: Phil Linglebach contacted the Chamber to get support for the Best Dam Run. Chamber to put together a business packet for the runners. Jeff Gray talked about days when the Chamber used to sponsor the run in years past-H2O, t-shirts, the whole event. The Chamber stopped the sponsorship in 1996 due to the flood. Norm reported that there was a major slide on the old hwy that may not be open by Sept. Lisa to check with our insurance company to see if we can co-sponsor this event.
