them in four days.
PGE
banner application has to be done.
There
is a community celebration planned on June 28, 2002, for the new median
strip. There will be room for
plantings. We hope to have the banners
up by then.
Katinka
sent in reviews.
It
was discussed that the name be changed to “Spring Arts Series.” We decided to talk about it again in
September.
There
was discussion about how publicity is the key to getting the community to come
to these lectures. Suggestions included
a community “upcoming events” board, having the City put the upcoming
information on the water bills, use reader boards at The Cazadero and the
junior high. Also, perhaps forming a
publicity committee.
Posters
went out to all the local schools.
Barbara agreed to take them to local churches. Nina Hamilton will distribute down Broadway. We will leave a stack at the newspaper office.
Jami
will check with Rod Moore regarding the availability of the Ace Hardware
location for the art exhibit.
Gloria
checked with Tomas Griessman and Ken Streeter about using their empty stores.
Karen
will contact John McAdoo about street closures.
She would like to see the street closed all of Saturday.
If
inclement weather causes the Main Street project to be extended, we need to
come up with an alternative plan just in case.
Jane
will call Leslie Atlansky about Summer Celebration advertisement poster.
Karen, Norma and Dave Piper, and Nine Bradford met
to discuss the possibilities. Dave wrote
a business plan. They plan to meet with
Myrna Yoder about her co-op experience.
The possibility of it running as a non-profit business was also
discussed.
Jane connected with the Oregon Arts Commission
regarding a $500 assistance grant. She
will meet on June 11 with Cheryl Snow.
Jami,
Katinka, and Jane completed the brochure.
If anyone wants changes or updates, contact Jami and/or bring changes to
next meeting.
No
update.
Lisa Holman of the Chamber of Commerce requested
updated information about the celebration.
Katinka
emailed Bob Austin and spoke with Randy Ealy about creating support for a
public art policy. City-backed interest
for supporting art should be included in a comprehensive plan.

Center.
