Minutes

at Jim Reynold’s home

Members present:

Beth McKinnon, Jim Reynolds, Jack Townes, Jane Troeh, Gary Warkentin and Pam Webber.

Guests: Dave Piper, Katinka Bryk

Jim called the meeting to order at 4:00.

The principal item of business was the further discussion and prioritization of building sites. Katinka distributed another library site-selection tool, a checklist that is published by the American Library Association. She also described a city block that has not been considered, yet and asked that we take this site into account as well.

Four sites were chosen for further study. Jim and Jack plan to meet with Randy Ealy, the city attorney and an appraiser to discuss the next steps involved in narrowing down the site choices.

Gary and Dave plan to begin the RFQ process and will begin to meet with prospective architects and gather their input on the building sites.

The next meeting will be on October 15, at 8:00 in the City Council Chambers. The meeting was adjourned at 6:05.
