BUDGET COMMITTEE MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS

A. Call to Order
– Mayor Austin
Mayor Austin
called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Present: Cr. Butcher, Cr. Atkinson, Mayor Austin, Dan
Burke, Linda Watterud, Sandy Pense, Kay Nelson, Brent Dodrill, Jerry Polzin, CM
Ealy, CR Carey.
Absent: Cr. Troeh, Cr. Hartwig, Cr. Akins, Cr. Gavic,
Jackie Freeborn.
B. Selection of
Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary
Cr. Butcher
nominated Jerry Polzin for budget chair.
Dan Burke seconded the motion.
Polzin was unanimously appointed chair.
Cr. Atkinson
nominated Brent Dodrill for vice chair/secretary. Dodrill declined the nomination. Cr. Butcher nominated Dan Burke for vice
chair/secretary. Burke declined the
nomination. Linda Watterud nominated Sandy
Pense for vice chair/secretary. Brent
Dodrill seconded the motion. Sandy Pense
was unanimously appointed vice chair/secretary.
C. Presentation
of Budget Message – CM Ealy
CM Ealy gave a
power point presentation explaining the budget and comparing the numbers to
other budget years.
CM Ealy read his
budget message. Linda Watterud moved to
accept the budget message with thanks.
Cr. Butcher seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
CR Carey
explained the different funds in the budget and how the numbering system
works. She encouraged members to contact
City Hall with any questions they have regarding the budget.

F. Public
hearing – State Revenue Sharing (ORS 221.770)
Chair Polzin
opened the public hearing to hear testimony regarding the possible uses of
state shared revenues.
There was no
public comment.
Chair Polzin
closed the public hearing.
G. Motion to
approve proposed budget (with amendments)
No action.
H. Motion to
approve an amount or rate of total ad valorem property taxes to be certified for collection.
No action.
