1. CONVENE
MEETING
Mayor Austin
opened the meeting at 5:35 pm.
Present: Cr. Butcher, Cr. Hartwig, Cr. Atkinson, Cr.
Gavic, Cr. Troeh, Mayor Austin, CM Ealy, PWS Strawn, CR Carey.
Absent: Cr. Akins.
2. STORM SEWER RATE INCREASE
CM Ealy reviewed
handouts reflecting the cost of maintaining the storm sewers including personal
services, materials and services and capital outlay. CM showed how the expenses relate to the
revenues with and without the rate increase.
PWS and CM
answered questions from the council regarding the storm drain fund.
3. SEWER RATE
INCREASE
CM Ealy reviewed handouts reflecting the cost of
treating and collecting the city’s wastewater including personal services,
materials and services and capital outlay.
PWS Strawn distributed graphs reflecting increases in operating and
maintaining the system.
Staff answered
questions from the council. PWS
explained that the increase would allow the city to fund projects without
having to borrow money.
