Estacada Arts Commission Minutes

OLD BUSINESS:

Banners Update:  Jane Reid  and Kristi Engelbrecht wrote a grant to Estacada Community Foundation for $1000 and received it.  Congratulations! ECF will also grant an additional $250 if they are credited on the banners and in the papers. Add this to the SOLV grant and there is now $1500 for city banners. Design still being defined by artist Jenny Joyce.

 

Artists Repertory Theater: A.R.T. is going strong, but they would still like more participants. Barb will resubmit informational articles to the local  newspaper.

 

Outreach: Barb has offered to go the next Chamber luncheon. We will ask Brent and Norma if they can attend City Council meeting to provide update on Commission's doing's. Jane and Katinka today attended the Clackamas County Commission and Guilds Gathering in Oregon City, hosted by the Clackamas County Arts Action Alliance. Met arts commissioners from, lake Oswego, Oregojn City and West Linn, and guild members from North Clackamas, Wy'east and Mollala. Informnative, thought provoking and a good start in networking and information sharing. Will meet quarterly, next meeting in March in Mollala.

 

Winter Arts Exhibit: A great big thank you to Jason Rediske for putting up the posters! Then followed a discussion of logistics for the two receptions, Dec 6 and Dec 9.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Spring Arts and Lecture Series: Katinka made a motion and Barb seconded to present the series this spring 2002. It was decided that publicity should be a team affair. Katinka made up a checklist for program tasks.

We will need to contact Jane Troeh about volunteers for each event, and the church about the spaceIt was decided to have some events on a Friday   night at 7pm, and some on Sunday afternoons at 3 pm. Possible performers

are Tygres Heart Shakespeare Theatre, Artists Repertory Theater, Alicia Charlton's clarinet quartet, some writers from Clackamas Community College, and Chautauqua.

 

Short look at the new Arts Commission city web page for artists. Was viewed favorably by the commission. Thank you to Traci for all her hard work for the commission, the artists and the community!
